Mr. William “Bill” Rosemire Sims, age 90, peacefully passed on March 25, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 26, 1935, in Lexington, Kentucky to parents, Burt “Lynn” and Frances “Mimi” (Rosemire) Sims, who preceded him in passing.
Bill received degrees from the University of Kentucky and Princeton University. He served in many Civil Engineering roles in the United States Air Force for 27 years and retired as Colonel in 1986. He later led Architecture and Engineering at Walt Disney Imagineering for 7 years and founded his own consulting company, Winteams. Throughout his distinguished career he made many friends and mentored colleagues all over the world – forming cherished lifelong relationships.
Bill’s highest priority and love was his family, both the one he was born into and the extended Thai family he gained through marriage. He dedicated much of his retirement life to researching and documenting the history and legacy of both sides.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Suwapee “Su” (Namwongse) Sims; son and daughter-in-law, Arc and Robyn (Chipman) Sims; grandchildren, Lincoln and Sydney Sims; and many other loving relatives and friends.
