He served in World War II and Korea, retiring from Civil Service and Kelly AFB.
Bill and Helen enjoyed traveling and being active in numerous square dance groups. He never knew or met a stranger, made everyone comfortable and was a friend to all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bonnie and his step-son, Wayne.
Bill is survived by his spouse of 28 years, Helen B. Clay; daughters, Gloria J. Haley and husband, Mike and Sue Green and husband, Marty; son, Keith H. Clay and wife, Dianne; daughter, Sherry Boykin and Lynn Baxley and husband, Greg; brother, Max Clay and wife, Gloria, brother, Carl Clay and wife, Jane; 9 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, neighbors, a host of friends and beloved pet, Coco.
