Yvonne Milner

Lillian Yvonne King Milner, always known as Yvonne, age 95, went peacefully to be with her Lord on April 1, 2012 with loved ones by her side. She was born on February 17, 1917 in San Antonio to Viola Weyel and Herbert King.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Leonard; sister Violet Porter; brother Dr. Herbert J. King, Jr.; and son-in-law George Kearns.

Yvonne is survived by daughters Sharon Sharp (Chuck), Cynthia Champlin (Jack) and Priscilla Kearns; grandchildren Jeff (Diane), Scott, Kristi (Thorsten), Steve (Dorothy), Sheryl (Paul), Brian, Stacie (Jason), Kimberly (Russell) and Laurie (Bobby); great-grandchildren Sara (Sean), Ellen, Jennifer, Dylan, Conor, Kyle, Kolton, Kodie, Allan, Austin, Ty, Taylor, Tori and Georgie; sister Victoria Koehler; cousin Margaret Medberry and numerous nieces and nephews.

Yvonne lived in her own home in Bulverde. She was a charter member of the Bulverde Senior Center, Bulverde United Methodist Church and Bulverde United Methodist Women. Previously, she had served as co-chair of the Bereavement Committee for the church. She was a longtime member of the Order of Eastern Star. Prior to moving to Bulverde in 1984, she and her husband resided in San Antonio where she was an active member of Bethany Presbyterian Church, involved in teaching Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and directing Christmas pageants, to name a few.

She was a very gracious and precious lady -- and the ultimate mother -- who lives forever in our hearts. Our mother was a very devoted wife and wonderful mother. Her love for her children was unconditional. She was a marvelous seamstress, a great homemaker and a terrific role model. Always involved in our lives, our mother did so very much for us, as well as for many others. In her early eighties she was a mentor with the "Seniors Helping Students" program at Bulverde Elementary, reading with students. She and "Dady" loved to travel, fish and dance. They were members of the Arthur Murray dance club. We have been blessed and she will be missed terribly.

Friends are invited to view from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Thursday, April 5, 2012 at Porter Loring Mortuary North Chapel.

Pastor Don Somerville will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Bulverde.

Yvonne's grandchildren will be her pallbearers.
