Stuart was one of my tennis friends and I always thought of him as a kind gentleman. To his family, I am sorry for your loss.

Carin, I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this sad and difficult time.

Carin, Bridget and Allison, your dad was a fine, respected man. May you feel Gods presence and peace as you share special memories.

I remember Mr. Mayo from my days at Mothershead, Hamilton and Mayo.  I worked for them as receptionist 1972 - 1976.  He was a very quiet individual and I had a lot of respect for him.  His family is in my prayers.

To the entire family of Stuart Mayo. I want to express my condolences to each of you for the loss of a great man. One of the most gentle souls I have had the pleasure of knowing. 

My earliest memory of Stuart Mayo.

I recall going to see my father at his place of employment there at Mothershead, Hamilton, Day & Mayo when I was a little boy. It was located in the old Clarke & Court's building on Harrison Street. I was fascinated by the elevator in this two story office building...and Mr. Mayo knew it! He would allow me to ride it up and down to my heart's content. To a 4 year old...that was fascinating! Thank you for hiring and employing my father just one year before marrying my mother. 

My most recent memory of Stuart.

I had the pleasure of visiting with Mr. Mayo by phone on Monday, August 10th, just 4 days before his passing as I was leaving Harlingen. We talked about getting together for dinner within the next several weeks when I was back in town. Though the conversation was brief, I recall thinking about how much of a gentleman he was as we said goodbye. "Stuart..I'll see you towards the end of the month. I sure hope so - he replied!"

Thank you for your service to this great country Mr. Mayo. Thank you for your contribution to our Harlingen community. But most of all..thank you for being you. An amazing friend to all that knew you. You will be sorely missed. 

Rest peacefully Stuart. You are now in the arms of the Angels in Heaven.
