Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother.
Passed away September 17th, 2025.
Born Claudia Lee Shomaker in Des Moines, IA on March 24th, 1944.
After a happy, but at times disconcerting childhood in her cherished little town of Madrid, IA, Claudia graduated from Central High in Omaha, NE and soon after married Larry Weber with whom she had two daughters - Debbie and Kim.
Relocating to Southern California, and as a divorced mother, she raised her daughters while completing her certification to become a radiology technician, working for both Cedars Sinai and Kaiser Permanente hospitals until retirement.
She purchased her residence, un-assisted, in 1972 and remained there for 53 years. In 1985, she met and married the love of her life, Leon John Timmerman of Arcadia, IA, and became close with his daughters, Kim and Kris.
In her childhood days, fishing on the Des Moines River at the “Cabin” with her family was a real treat. She enjoyed horseback riding in her teens and was a lover of animals and nature. Claudia was an avid motorcycle enthusiast in the 70’s and rode in rallies entailing durations of several days over hundreds of miles. She also enjoyed rough-it style camping with Deb and Kim up in the San Gabriel mountains. Later in life, boating and fishing with Leon on Pine Flat Reservoir, where they owned a boat and travel trailer, took precedent.
Tragically, Claudia was preceded in death by Leon, her husband of 35 years and both of her daughters, Debbie and Kim. She is survived by 6 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren from the Edward Small (Debbie) family of Utah, sister Cheryl Riggs and brother Chuck Shomaker.
Petite in stature and soft spoken, Claudia’s kindness, courage and generous spirit, will certainly leave a lasting impression on all who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers please make a contribution in the name of Claudia Weber Timmerman to the American Cancer Society.
To honor her memory, a memorial service for Claudia will be held Monday, October 13, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Mt. View Mortuary & Cemetery, 570 East Highland Ave, San Bernardino, CA 92404, followed by a reception from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM.
