My life was enriched by working alongside Jason Schrader while employed by the USDOJ.  Though I retired and relocated to Texas at the close of 2017, I have often thought of the people I worked with in the DOJ and most especially of young Jason who was forced into early retirement because of his illness. He was a pleasure to work with; he was ever calm, kind and deeply respectful of his co-workers. I am greatly saddened to learn of his untimely passing.  I feel blessed to have had the honor of working with and getting to know him.  

Jason's former co-workers at the Department of Justice are just learning about this very sad news.  We are grateful for the opportunity of having worked with this highly intelligent, respected and talented individual, and more grateful still of having gotten to know him and his family.  We witnessed their brave battle.  We hope the family finds peace in their young lives.  Maybe it was his eyes, but Jason's had a way of lighting up a room.  We always will remember that light.
