In 1963, Dennis began his service to the nation and entered the United States Navy. He served aboard the USS Bonhomme Richard Aircraft Carrier. He was in the Navy for 4 years and worked in the engine compartment. He was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1967.
In 1968, Dennis married Carole Christine Anderson and they raised a family with 2 children, Steven Dennis Anderson and Cheri Denise Anderson.
In 1977, after borrowing a loan from his mother, Dennis opened an auto parts store in San Bernardino, Ca. He spent many years in the auto parts business, where he was very well known and loved by customers, associates, and friends.
Dennis was also well known for his professional career as a drag racer for the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) for 30 years and had many friends within the association. In 1982, he won his first Top Gas Drag Race at Brotherhood Raceway on Terminal Island in Long Beach, Ca. Many family and friends celebrated the great moment with him. The Sun Telegram Newspaper conducted an interview with Dennis as being a local successful drag racer in his community.
In 1996, Dennis was remarried to Janet Elaine Anderson. They spent 28 years together and happily married for 24 years, enjoying life to the fullest.
In 2001, he retired and decided to run a vending machine business, which he greatly enjoyed doing every day.
Dennis was known as a great man and everybody that knew him loved him. He was known as “Dennis” to his friends, “Sweet” to his wife, “Dad” to his children, and “Papa” to his grandchildren.
Kenneth Dennis Anderson, 79, left us to be with the Lord on September 28th, 2020, with his family by his side in San Bernardino, Ca.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Janet, 2 children Steven and Cheri, 2 grandchildren Cecilia and Taurian, 2 great- grandchildren Caleah and Ella, his stepson Kenny, his favorite nephew Frank (AKA Flooba 1), and a host of friends and family.
