Linda Carol McCafferty

Linda Carol McCafferty, age 79, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2018. Born in Riverside, CA., she attended Poly High School (class of 1956 - ERGS) where she was a cute cheerleader who fell in love with her football player high school sweetheart, Ray McCafferty, Jr. They later married, started a family and raised 6 wonderful children. During this time, she made wonderful friends while enjoying her career at UCR, and, after 50 years of living in Riverside, she and Ray moved to Crestline to live in the mountains and enjoy their retirement.

Linda continued to stay active in her church and devoted countless hours to helping those who were in need. Linda is survived by her sons, John of Idaho and Mark of Riverside; daughters Laura Teague of Livermore, Lynne Vazquez of Riverside, and Katharine Harris of Crestline. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Ray, and her youngest son, Patrick.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Church in Crestline on the 26th at 11:00am. 23079 Crest Forest Dr., 909-338-2303. Interment will be in Riverside for family only.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charity she loved so much, El Carmelo Retreat House 926 E Highland Ave., Redlands, CA.
