

Ronald Dean Krell was born on January 2, 1929 to William and Grace Krell, in White Lake, South Dakota. He had 3 siblings, 2 older brothers and 1 younger. When he was a child, the family moved to Woodstock, Minnesota where he was raised and schooled. He served in the United States Army in 1948 and 1949. On August 29, 1950 he married Betty Smestad of Slayton, MN. They lived in Woodstock where he farmed, ran an automobile service station and drove the rural school bus. Ron was a member of both the volunteer fire department and the American Legion, post 120, Woodstock, MN. He was also a life-long member of the Knights of Columbus. Ron and Betty had 5 children, 1 daughter, and 4 sons. They moved their family to San Bernardino, California in 1965 where he owned and operated 2 service stations. They have 4 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. they moved to Redlands, CA. in 2015.
Ron entered eternal life on December 27, 2016, one week prior to his 88th birthday. He is loved and remembered by his wife of 66 years, 4 of his children, Laurie, Mark & wife Jan, David and wife Roni, and Steven & wife Anita; his 4 grandchildren, Brad, Mark and wife Jaylin, Dana and husband Dan, Melissa and husband Bradley; and his great-grandchildren. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, and 1 son.
Services will be held at Our Lady of Hope, Catholic Church, in San Bernardino, CA on Sat., January 14th at 2:00 in the afternoon.
