Aida is survived by her Husband James Alfonso Guieb (Yokosuka, Japan) and two daughters, Lex Angelie Guieb (Yokosuka, Japan) and Jaemi Anne Guieb Kurtzman (Memphis, TN). She is preceded in death by her parents Eulogio and Marcelina Gatchalian (Manila, Philippines) and twin sons Joshua and Jethro Guieb (Honolulu, HI).
Aida was born on May 21st, 1962 in Quezon City, Philippines to Eulogio and Marcelina. She graduated from The Philippine School of Business Administration in 1983 with a degree in Business Management and Marketing. She married her high school sweetheart in 1991 in Makati City, Philippines just before moving to the United States. During the course of their relationship, her husband James joined the United States Navy and with Aida, raised their two daughters with the foundation of love, family, and grace. Her children continue to remember her as a gentle mother who supported and encouraged the two to pursue their goals in every possible way.
While having a degree in Business Management, Aida was an accomplished Teacher – her true passion being child development – and often took many other children besides her own under her wing. She was a compassionate soul who dedicated her life to sharing that light to all those who were blessed to have met her. She was an active and dedicated member of the Church in all duty stations the Navy sent the family and often volunteered in various after school programs as well.
A Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, July 19th 2022 at El Camino Memorial – Sorrento Valley (5600 Carroll Canyon Rd.
