My name is Billy Dowell. I met Albert when I was 20 years old and now I am 65.  The day I met Albert it was like my Birthday, Christmas and the 4th of July all rolled into one. That day I was truly blessed by God!
 If it wasn't for Al and Betty, I don't know if I would of had the great life I have now. 
I've always looked up to Big Al. He was a master plaster, a true professional and one of the best I've seen. Al was my mentor. I always talked about Al and how good he was, how smart he was , and how he was one of the nicest guys I ever met.  Al always said, Billy D. "Don't blow my horn", and I said Al "You are truly great, you're like Jordan". He said who's that? I said he is the man! Al said (with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth) You could have said I was like Larry Bird or Magic Johnson! I said Jordan is better! You are a supreme Bamb-bean! Again he said what's that? I told him it was someone who is outta  this world, like you. And we both laughed.
Al was truly a family man. He had 2 nice sons and a great wife. Betty sat me down and talked to me for an hour and changed my life. Betty, I love you for that! When Mike and Steve were young I bet they said to their Dad "I didn't know you had a black son"! that was me! Al helped me so much in my life. He helped me get my credit started, he helped me get my 1st apartment and he even told me how to buys my 1st house. Thank you Steve and Mike for sharing your Dad with me. Mike you're a chip off the old block Steve I'll talk to you later, LOL! 
Al loved him some Betty. The two of them were made for each other, like hand in glove. I've never seen two people that loved each other like these two, this was true love! I would always tell Al, "you are lucky to have Betty and he would say " He was the lucky one".
My heart goes out to Betty, Steve, Mike and the whole family. God Bless you, I love you guys!

One of my favorite pictures at my Parents. The common thing I see in all the pictures and noted in comments here is Uncle Albert’s smile, kindness and spirit. You touched many lives, thank you for the love, laughs and advice throughout the years. 



I've known Albert since the 70"s. We worked together in the early years with Delp Plastering. A very good Plaster. He ended up Contracting and we would run into each other at the material yard from time to time. Every time it was like we never missed a lick always catching up. I was fortunate to work with his son Mike and we became good friends. Albert was always full of life and a great man. I will miss him. 

 Albert and Betty,   Just wanted to say thank you for all the good times and laughs we've had together...Most of all I personally want to tell how much I've appreciated the respect you've showed me over the years,...Please know how much I respected you...Thank you for always allowing me to be apart of the family...My thoughts and prayers are with you always. I was saddened to hear of Albert’s passing, my thoughts are with you and your family.  Albert was the sweetest man I have ever known.  He had a heart of gold and the smile to go with it.  He was a devoted family man, husband and father.  One of my favorite things about him was how much he absolutely loved and adored his grandkids and great grandkids.  He would get the biggest grin on his face and was so excited anytime I brought my girls over to visit him and Nana, and the girls felt the exact same way.  He was always making us laugh and telling us his funny stories.

It has been my greatest pleasure to call him my father-in-law and I will miss him immensely.  My heart goes out to all of you.

A good friend and great man. Looked up to by all who knew him for his honesty, caring personality. Albert you will be missed by those of us who knew you and will remember you, because you made a difference.

Denise and I are so sorry to hear of the loss of such a good guy. I have such great memories of our times together, the KMP picnics and family gatherings, going to the track. He had such a warm smile and loving heart. He will be missed by all. God speed, RIP my friend🏇🏾

I met Albert in the seventh grade at Montgomery Junior High School, while we weren’t best of friends, our greetings and small talk began there and would continue throughout our high school years at Kearny. Albert is one of the nicest, gentle and sincere people anyone could ever meet. He was genuine and honest. We both played in rock bands back in those days, kind of competing actually. He was a pretty good guitarist back then and surely loved music. I have a great memory of attending a Larry Carlson concert with Albert and wife Betty.

 Several years after we graduated, married and had started our own families, I learned that he had his own plastering business and would enlist his services from time to time. There was always a lot of talk, a lot of catching up to do, most of it was about his family, you could feel how much he loved them sooo.

It’s so hard to say goodbye to a good man and a great friend , I met Al at work in 1974 and all he ever did for me is help and treat me so good as a coworker we had a great relationship ship on the job we always were on the same page and knew how to do things together and right . I’m so emotional right now May GOD be with Alberts Family and watch over them forever And Al I’ll see you again in the new place GOD will prepare for us , have a good one Al , Love to you and family the Holmes ❤️ !!!!!!!
