

Benjamin Garcia Bacaoco Sr. of Clifton, Virginia passed away on November 1, 2025, at the age of 83. He was born in San Jose, Antique, Philippines where he grew up in Pigcawayan, Cotobato Philippines on a farm.
He graduated from National University in 2002.
He retired as a Disbursing Clerk, Master Chief, after serving 31 years for the United States Navy.
He actively involved in church, reading, walking, jogging, watching sports and traveling.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Moises and Candeleria Bacaoco. The youngest of nine children.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Acuzar Bacaoco and his three sons – Ryan Acuzar Bacaoco, Mark Acuzar Bacaoco, and Benjamin Acuzar Bacaoco, Jr.. He is also survived by his 7 Granddaughters: Liah Le, Jadyn Bacaoco, Kylie Bacaoco, Chloe Bacaoco, Kenzie Bacaoco, Sarah Bacaoco, and Elizabeth Bacaoco.
Benjamin lived a life fueled by curiosity, discipline, and an unwavering belief in the power of learning. A devoted grandfather, he encouraged his granddaughters’ bright minds and created a rich, nurturing environment where knowledge is cherished. A lifelong learner himself, Benjamin found joy in reading the dictionary, exploring autobiographies, and immersing himself in documentaries of every kind. His favorite films—A Beautiful Mind, Ghost, Ben-Hur, The Ten Commandments, and countless National Geographic features—reflected his passion for history, mystery, and the brilliance of the human spirit. He stayed active through jogging and long walks, and he loved cheering on tennis, boxing, and basketball games while recently discovering the pleasures of the Food Network. Benjamin’s love for the world extended far beyond books and sceneries; he was an enthusiastic traveler who experienced the beauty of London, France, Rome, Ireland, Japan, Monaco, Germany, Philippines, and other countries during his military career. His curiosity, kindness, and love of learning touched everyone who knew him, and his legacy of wonder and encouragement lives on in the hearts of his family.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 8200 Gold Coast Dr, San Diego, CA 92126 on First Week of December on December 3rd at 11:00 in the morning. Visitation with the family will begin on December 2nd between 4:00 – 8:00 in the evening at El Camino Cemetery, 5600 Carroll Canyon Road, San Diego, CA 92121.
Interment to follow at Miramar National Cemetery, 5795 Nobel Drive, San Diego, CA 92122 on December 3rd at 1:15 in the afternoon.
Reception for Benjamin Garcia Bacaoco will be held at Little Sakana, 8270 East Mira Mesa Boulevard, San Diego, CA 92126, PH: (858) 860-5000 at 2:30 in the afternoon.
