

Benjamin Decena, 80, of San Diego, CA, has passed away to be with our Heavenly Father on January 22, 2025. Born on March 18, 1944 to Pablo and Guadalupe Decena who preceded him in death. Ben was a devoted husband, loving brother and a great uncle. He was married to Rosenda Camara of Atimonan, Quezon Philippines who preceded him in death.
He is preceded in death by brothers Pablo, Jose, Cesar and sister Carmencita and is survived by his brother Nemesio, Danilo, Antonio and sisters Teresita, Erlinda, Milagros, Corazon.
After graduating from Don Bosco Technical School in Mandaluyong, Metro Manila, Philippines, he went to National University and graduated with a Mechanical Engineering degree, and passed board exam as a Mechanical Engineer. He was employed at Meralco Corporation as Mechanical engineer and later assigned at Rockwell power plant as an operator in Tanay, Rizal Philippines. Getting a lot of experience in power plant operations, he packed his bag and immigrated to United States. Residing in San Diego, California, he worked for many years at the San Diego Gas and Electric Company until his retirement to enjoy his passion and hobbies in life.
He loves to travel, relaxing on the beach, sitting at the park, going to the casinos, taking pictures, making family videos, doing handyman things, fixing cars as being mechanically inclined and giving away lots of money to children during Christmas time. Ben was unselfish, kind and full of life. He will forever be missed by those who love him. His ability to sacrifice, support, forgive and love leaves so much memories in everyone’s heart in the family and those who knew him. He devoted himself to giving his family the best life and not worry about his own needs.
May he now Rest in Peace.
Memorial Service will be held at 10 – 11am Friday, February 7, 2025 at El Camino Memorial park Chapel in San Diego California with Brother Tony Decena officiating memorial services.
Burial to follow at 1130 am at El Camino Memorial Park.
