

Benjamin (Ben) Paul MILLER, age 61, of San Diego, California passed away on Monday, December 13, 2021 from a hard fought battle with metastatic melanoma. Ben was born August 20, 1960 in Philadelphia, Pa to Benjamin F. and Marilyn R. (Meyers) Miller.
Ben graduated from Hatboro/Horsham High School in 1978. He attended Bucks County Technical School and completed his Associates Degree in computer programming. Ben moved to San Diego, Ca in 1987. He worked for Wintriss Engineering Corp. as Director of Sales for the last several years.
San Diego is where Ben was introduced to sailing which became his life long passion. He raced sail boats competitively for many years, up until his death. He was an active outdoorsman, playing many sports throughout his life. He met his wife, Juliana (Julie) Grove, on a ski trip to Whistler, Canada in 1998. They were married in 2003. Ben introduced Julie to sailing as well. They purchased their own sail boat in 2020, Bel Far Niente. Ben loved to travel and sail the world. Ben was a member of San Diego Yacht Club and Cortez Racing Association (CRA).
Ben is survived by his wife, Julie Grove Miller, parents, Benjamin F. Miller and Marilyn (Meyers Miller) Backert. He is also survived by his twin brother Scot Miller and his wife Lori, children - Andy, Jake and Corey. In addition, Ben is survived by his two sisters: Beth (Miller) Burke, children- Megan, Nicole and Tom, and Beth's husband Tom; and Leanne (Miller) Jarrett, and her husband Jim and their children - Jessica, Zachary and Joshua. There are also many spouses plus grand nieces and nephews. In addition, he had a special connection with his beloved Cocker Spaniel, Einstein.
A private memorial service will be held in the Philadelphia area in the Spring. A Celebration of Life will also be held at a later date in San Diego.
