Bernice Alice Digman Morrison Bernice Alice Digman was born in Nokomis, a small town of about 2,000 people in central Illinois, on November 30, 1923. She was the daughter of Melville Ray and Druie Zell Digman. Bernice had a brother, Ralph, who was 4 ½ years older. She married Ed Morrison in February 1945. She was a military wife who followed her husband; she especially enjoyed being stationed in Hawaii. When Ed retired, she became his bookkeeper/secretary for his locksmith business. When Ed died in 1984, she became active in Honored Ladies and continued with Eastern Star and TOPS. Last fall she started to decline, started Hospice, and remained comfortable until she peacefully died with her daughter, Patricia, at her side on February 28. Her husband and son, Steve, predeceased her. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Michael, sister-in-law Eleanor Lawrence of Illinois, plus out-of-state nieces, nephews, and cousins.
