Susan and Alice,
   For the past year I have been thinking of you all and feeling like I needed to get out to CA and hopefully drive down to San Diego.  Something didn't feel right, and I dreaded the worst.  Then at the St. Paul's High School reunion this summer, my sister Anne spoke with fellow classmate, Arthur (Artie?) and heard the news.  
You, Susan, know the limits of our mortality and have probably been a great comfort to many others in your position.  I pray that your spiritual community has in turn  been there for you this past year.

Susan and Alice.  I'm so sorry to learn you have lost Bruce.  For so many years Bruce was an inspiration to so many of us.  I have good memories of the warmth from your family when growing up in Newark, Delaware. I have admired the way you, Bruce and Alice pulled together and contributed to the larger community.
