

Charles Schimmeyer, also known as Chuck to family and friends, was born on June 14, 1950, in Aurora, Illinois. He was the only child of Charles and Betty Schimmeyer. He spent his early childhood years in Illinois, but moved to San Diego with his family at age ten. He lived the rest of his life in southern California, attending Kearny High School and later San Diego State University for both undergraduate and graduate studies. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Arts as well as a Master of Science degree in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration.
Chuck spent the majority of his professional career as an auditor for the Defense Contract Audit Agency, retiring after 28 years of service. In his younger years, he was an avid surfer. He had a lifetime love of music, and his favorite pastimes were tennis, gardening, cooking, and playing with his four grandchildren. Along with singing on the worship team, he enjoyed playing the guitar at Calvary Chapel of Santee and Calvary Chapel of Lemon Grove.
Chuck will be forever remembered as a loving man who lived life with integrity and honor. He always put others before himself, whether it was offering a helping hand or a listening ear. His ready smile and gentle spirit touched all who knew him. He was a passionate believer in Christ.
Chuck is survived by his wife of 42 years, Vicki, his son Scott, his daughter Suzanne (Noah) White, his grandson Reuben Charles White, and his granddaughters Rebecca Rose, Ada Lee, and Aurora Grace White. He is preceded in death by his daughter Rebecca and his parents.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, July 15, 2021, at Calvary Chapel of Santee. A viewing will be held from 9AM-11AM, and the service will begin at 11AM with a reception following.
