Denise, I'm in Pacific Beach for a few days, and spontaneously looked up my favorite Tiki neighbor on the web, only to see that your Don has transitioned, and just recently! My prayers and heartfelt support are with you and your children. You were such a lovely influence in my teenage life, I have always felt a lot of appreciation, and Don was of course a part of that. I'll always remember his and his brother's great tiki carvings, and just generally what a nice man he was.

Don was a great friend who loved everyone.  His service in  scouting to my sons was greatly appreciated by us because he made scouting fun and educational.  We loved Don -- and our thoughts and prayers are with Denise, whom we also Love dearly, and their children and grandchildren.  When we were young, we all had great fun together, planning scavenger hunts, enjoying the local restaurants together and sharing birthdays.  We celebrate his life and will meet again.  I extend my love and prayers for peace and comfort to Denise.

I was deeply saddened today to hear of Don’s passing.  I have so many fond memories of my early life with Don in scouting and on Church trips with the young men of the Del Mar ward.  There was something magical and inspiring of his words and teachings.   Perhaps it was his deep love of Nature, his great respect for his Native American traditions, or his sense of adventure and fun.   He was full of wisdom and I am so proud to have known him.   He was a great man and role model, and I will always fondly remember him.   My deepest sympathies to his great family.
