Mrs. Dorothy Pringle

Dorothy was surrounded by family when she passed away peacefully from complications of ALS. Born in San Diego to Mary and Manuel Frizado Silva, she lived her entire life in Point Loma. She attended Catholic school, graduated from San Diego J.C. and worked for Solar Turbines as a secretary. She married her loving husband Bob and assisted him during his long career as a commercial tuna fisherman. They shared 51 beautiful years together. She had 4 children and took pride in being a caring, loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her faith and family were her world. She was a devoted member of St Agnes Church where she sang in the choir for 45 years. She was proud of her Portuguese heritage and loved to sing Portuguese Fados. Cultural events were an important part of her life and she instilled a love of tradition and values in all her family.

She and Bob shared trips and cruises with family and friends. The Vatican was her favorite. Her sister Lorraine was her best friend and they spent much time together laughing, singing, shopping, playing bingo, and heading out on Palm Springs getaways. She was a breast cancer survivor and held annual bake sales, raising thousands of dollars for research. She loved to babysit her grandchildren as well as attend their sporting events. She also loved to crochet, knit and read. She was a wonderful, gracious, selfless person who leaves us with many happy memories. She will live forever in our hearts.

She is predeceased by her infant son Bobby and is survived by her loving husband Bob, 3 children, Jimmy Pringle (Carmen), Karen Garces (Jose), Kristie Durment (John) and 7 grandchildren Breanna, Alyssa, James, Bobby, Christa, Trevor and Katelyn.

Services will be at St Agnes Church Wednesday 10/3 beginning with recitation of the rosary at 9:30 am followed by the celebration of mass; burial at Holy Cross Cemetery immediately following.
