Edie was born on July 11th, 1933, to Beatrice and Walter Middleton in Ellisville, Mississippi. She grew up with her three sisters, Anna, Estelle, and Roberta, on their family farm. After graduating from Laurel Highschool, she went on to marry Harold Jackson who she met in High School.
Harold’s career led them to San Diego, California. Edie began working as a bookkeeper for several businesses and became an avid contributor to her community.
Upon having a family, Edie dedicated her life to being a wonderful wife and mother. She devoted her time to the Baptist Church community. Her many roles in the church included teaching Vacation Bible School, Women’s Bible Study, and feeding the homeless. She made it her mission to improve the lives of others through her faith.
Edie was a passionate gardener and when she wasn’t filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found in her yard admiring her flowers and feeding the birds. Edie enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and taking trips with Harold. We will miss her greatly.
Edie was predeceased by her husband, Harold Matthew Jackson. She is survived by her three children (Diana, Matt, and Eric), six grandchildren (Rebecca, Rachel, Joshua, Kelsey, Cassidy, and Kayla), and four great-grandchildren (Grace, Nathaniel, Zachary, and Georgia).
