Ed and I were roommates at Princeton for three years and we were also from Washington DC, so we saw a lot of each other then.  We had very different temperaments and interests, but that made knowing Ed more enjoyable.   He was a real scientist and not exactly one for the aesthetic side of life, but he was always open to different ideas and experiences.  He took philosophy as one of his humanities electives and developed a real interest in it.   I continued to see him a bit after he left Princeton, but we gravitated to different parts of the country.  I'm sad that we didn't meet up in later years.  It was always stimulating and fun to know Ed.

We always enjoyed Ed at the Friday morning breakfast. It was fun talking about cars.
I also remember him preparing the drawings for the UMW Tea.
He pointed out that he was a honorary UMW member.
It was special to be invited to your house for his birthday celebration.
May he rest in peace.

Ed was a fun loving  &  kind person to be with. I have great memories of Ed  visiting,  & his  way of making you feel welcome.  He is greatly missed.


Ed hired me out of college in 1973.  Not only was he my boss and mentor for almost 20 years he was also a dear friend and a father figure to me.  He is very much missed but also very much remembered!  

I remember Ed being so kind, friendly & so very generous. Every time we visited  he  always paid for our meals, tickets to events & very  entertaining. Ed is my brother-in-law.
