

Guzman, Elvira Gonzalez, 69, of Del Mar, CA was born on February 2, 1947 in Encarnación de Díaz, Jalisco, Mexico and passed away peacefully, with her son Gilbert and daughter Judy at her side on December 10, 2016. Elvira, widow of Gilbert Ruben Guzman, is survived by her children Gilbert Arthur Guzman 50, Judy Guzman Krueger 46, Mary Gonzalez 41 and Humberto Gonzalez, 39. She has three grandchildren, Jordan Nicole Krueger 19, Nicholas Daniel Krueger, 16 and Piper Lea Gonzalez, 3.
Elvira came to the United States in 1964 when she married. She became a bilingual Spanish elementary school teacher for the San Diego Unified School District, received her Masters degree in Education, and eventually became a Master Teacher Trainer when she retired.
She enjoyed traveling, singing, and dancing, but will be best remembered for her exquisite cuisine which she presented with joy to any and all wherever she would find herself.
Elvira put her family above all else. She was generous and caring, sharp and witty, elegant and beautiful. She engendered intimacy and trust and was a confidant role model to many.
Viewing will take place at Goodbody Mortuary, San Diego on Wednesday, December 21, from 4pm to 8pm. Rosary and Vigil service will begin at 6:30 pm. The Funeral Mass
will take place on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at St. James Catholic Church, Solana Beach at 1pm.
