Querida comadre Elvira,  Te vamos a extrañar y nuestras memorias de nuestra juventud nunca vamos a olvidar.  Mi familia y yo siempre te recordaremos como una parte de nuestra familia, también toda mi familia Mercado y familia Flores.  Estamos seguros que te encuentras en un lugar mejor, cerquita de Dios, y con tu ahijada Yolanda M. Flores.  Con mucho amor mi gran amiga.

Tia Elvira, what a beautiful difference you made and continue making in all of us! We will miss you dearly but we hold you close in our hearts. I had the honor to watch how you courageously challenged yourself each year by educating yourself and showing us how nothing is impossible.  My mom used to share with me how you came to the U. S. very young not knowing the language or place, but you pushed forward and bloomed. You have been an amazing mother, supportive wife and scholar, yes I say scholar because, who would have known you would help so many to further their education, as teachers, and more through your example and words of wisdom.  I including myself in that group.  Thank you dear Tia, the lady with the beautiful smile and the sparkly eyes.  Que Dios Te tenga en sus brazos.

Aunt Elvira I am so thankful we got to talk at Stephanie & Franco's wedding. You couldn't tell me what you were going through that day but some how I already knew. You made a great impact on my life and for that I thank you. I will miss your laugh, your smile. I will miss you. Rest in paradise beautiful Angel. You will never be forgotten.

Elvira was a wonderful teacher and friend to everyone while I was at Spreckels Elementary School.  I am sure that she will be missed dearly by her family and friends. May your treasured memories sustain you at this time.

We met my husband Joe Cromwell and I, Elvira and Gil at Kelly's in 2010, where Joe use to playthe keyboard. Elvira and I had in common, that we were from the same country and we liked to sing, and so began the friendship. I had the opportunity to meet her lovely family and some of her friends because Elvira liked to have parties in her house and she was an excellent hostess and she loved to cook. She was a fabulous chef and her delicious food make me remember memories of my country. Her "pozole, tamales, albondigas, etc,were unique. Elvira and Gil,met many people in music environment in San Diego.They loved to listen them, and we also had a mutual friends. She liked going to sing to a differents venues and  with Joe too and she and Gil followed Joe in all the different venues where he played. After Gil past away, she continued to sing with Joe. One of the songs I will always remember her will be "Tipitin, tipitin". She sang many songs in Spanish that I did not know that there was that English version in Spanish.I have a lot of Memories of her.She gone, but her memory will continue in our memory and hearts.May God has her and Gil in his Glory.

I'll always remember her wonderful smile. I work with her at Spreckels Elementary School for many years. Elvira was also my son's teacher. When my son passed 4 years ago. Elvira and Gilbert, her husband, came to my son's services. She also called me when her husband Gilbert passed a few years ago. God Bless and R I P.

Elvira was a dear and kind friend to many. I did not meet here until later in her life but she touched my heart in many ways. Her love of family, music, sharing her home and her fabulous cooking, and her joy of Motherhood was truly inspiring. She was a very proud woman and showed it in may ways. I am so saddened by her passing and will miss her very much. Her spirit and generous  nature were lovingly passed on to her children.  Karen Giorgio, San Diego, CA

Elvira G. Guzman was married to my cousin, Gilbert, who was like a brother
to me.  When he married, I gained another sister.  Elvira loved life and was
so full of contagious joy.  When i was in need of home care, she came to
take care of me and lifted my spirits by making albondigas - my favorite
Soup.  Then, she came one more time - all the way from Del Mar to San
jose.  Thank you, Elvira, you helped me recover by making me smile and
laugh.  You will never be forgotten; you're in my heart for all time. Aloha
to you and all the family from Koloa, Hawaii.  i'm on Kauai, the garden
Isle and will be looking at flowers and remembering your beautiful spirit

I will miss Aunt Elvira.  She was an amazing, kind woman that touched my life in a way that I will always hold close to my heart.  Love and hugs to all of her family, all of our families and friends who loved her so much.
