Francine Rosalie Weisberger

Francine Rosalie Weisberger (nee Fendrick) was born in Westchester, Pennsylvania and adopted by Milton and Estelle Fendrick. Fran grew up in Brooklyn, NY and attended James Madison High School and Brooklyn College where she received her Bachelor’s degree in elementary education.

Fran met the love of her life, Gerald (Jerry) Weisberger while playing basketball in the gym while in the 8th grade. They were nearly inseparable from that time forward. Fran and Jerry married on November 26, 1952. Soon after their marriage, Jerry commissioned as an officer in the US Navy and they relocated to San Diego, CA. A few years later, they welcomed their first child, Mark followed over the coming years by Glenn, Lynn and Dana. After Jerry left the Navy, Fran and Jerry relocated again and moved to the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles where they raised their family. In 1967, Fran and Jerry decided to attend law school together, at night. Fran was the top of her class while still busy at home raising four young children. After passing the bar exam, Fran worked in various capacities as an attorney for about 15 years.

During their years in retirement, Fran and Jery were blessed to be able to split their time between two homes, one in Northridge, CA and another in La Jolla, CA. In addition, they traveled the world making new friends on every trip.

In 2009, Fran and Jerry moved permanently down to La Jolla. Fran’s greatest joy in life was her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Fran is preceded in death by Jerry and Mark. Fran is survived by Glenn, Lynn Todd (Doug), Dana Moraly (Roy), Mark’s widow, Sheryl Weisberger, nine grandchildren: Evan Weisberger (Sami), Haley Hazell (Brian), Adam Weisberger (Amy), Jacob Todd, Melinda Weisberger (Matt), Matthew Weisberger (Alex), Justin Todd, Eric Moraly, Jennifer Moraly and four great grandchildren: Michaela Hazell, Owen Weisberger, Rowan Weisberger, and Jack Hazell.
