

Frank William Swedberg passed away at home on March 6 2024 in San Diego, California at the age of 87. He was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1936 to Frank and Marion Swedberg. He had one sister, Ardean, who preceded him in death. His family moved here in 1948. He graduated from San Diego high school as a caveman in 1954 then joined the army. He served in the Korean War and then joined the reserves. In the late 1950s he met Loyce at his place of employment. They were wed in September of 1959 . She had 2 children from a previous marriage which they were fortunate to be adopted by him in 1968. He loved and treated them like they were his own. He spent many years working at Rohr doing multiple jobs, including delivering parts. He retired from there in the late 1990s. He loved cars, specifically, Ford and Volkswagen, so much that he traveled to Hershey Pennsylvania most years to see the car show. He also loved to cycle long distances . He cycled with a caravan of friends on the Lewis and Clark Trail for the bicentennial. He also enjoyed participating in sailing and camping with his friends. Loyce and Frank traveled to many destinations over the years. Some were the Greek islands, many destinations in Europe, like the United Kingdom, Scotland and Scandinavia. Even at 87 years old, he was still very active by walking every day and going to the gym.
He is remembered by all of his friends and family as a fun, loving person to all. He is survived by his two children. Jeff Swedberg (Toni) and Carla Webber (Scott), 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. His memorial will be on April 2 at 1:30 PM at Miramar National Cemetery. Family and friends are invited.
