

George Everett Denn Jr., 90, of San Diego, California, passed away peacefully at home on September 11, 2025.
George was born on May 17, 1935, in Roseburg, Oregon, to George Everett Denn Sr. and Dorothy Denn. He is predeceased by his parents and his brother, Roger Denn.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Carmen Denn; his children Cheryl Denn, Gregory Denn (Brandi), David Denn, and Paul Denn (Angie); his step-children Sandy Denn, Robert Denn, James Denn, Robert Rusnak (Nikki), Chris Rusnak (Dee Dee), and Richard Rusnak (Anne); his grandchildren Sarah Denn Pedeaux, Cody Denn, Caleb Denn, Alexis Muncy, Katie Muncy, and Louis William Frank III; and his great-grandchildren Isabelle, Lucy, Cecilia, David III, Alice, Camille, Colette, Ivy, Eden, and Roman.
George was a proud graduate of the United States Naval Academy, earning his commission in June 1960. He went on to serve his country for 21 and a half years in the United States Navy, retiring at the rank of Lieutenant Commander. His service included eight years overseas, with time in the Gulf of Tonkin during the Vietnam War. Following his Navy career, George spent 15 years with Textron Marine Systems in New Orleans, Louisiana, contributing to the Landing Craft Air Cushion program for the Marine Corps. In his later years, he continued to dedicate his time to his community as president of his Homeowners’ Association at Casa Bella, where he became fondly known as “The Sheriff.”
In the late 1990s, life brought George something unexpected and wonderful: he reconnected with Carmen, the love of his life. Together, they shared over 25 years of companionship, laughter, and devotion. Their marriage brought George a renewed sense of joy and fulfillment, and their years together in San Diego were among the happiest of his life.
George will be remembered for his reserved nature, quiet strength, and unwavering kindness.
