On the business side of Kamuran, I'd say he was a classic entrepreneur.  I remember meeting him way back in the 1980's when he was working downtown S.D. for Krasne's.  Even then he was a powerful force of nature, the type of person one does not forget meeting.  Soon enough the desire to be his own boss overwhelmed his cautious nature and he established his own business.  He had been successful in his own business in Turkey, and had absorbed the important aspects of being a boss, planning ahead, resource allocation, and for suppliers like me, the importance of building relationships.  These characteristics never wavered in all the years I knew him.  But....as a huge bonus, I got to see the personal side of him:  caring, sincere, forgiving, predictable, a bit mercurial, and, at least for me a friend.  Rest in peace. 

Met Kamuran and his lovely wife Laurie when they made us so welcome to Basaran Apartment in Bebek district of Istanbul. 
As everyone has noted he was a man of great warmth and friendliness who was so family orientated. 
He was a man with an infinite capacity for friendship and who worked hard all his life to provide for his family.
Just a short story to indicate Kamurans dedication to quality, unsolicited Kamayan presented me with a gift of two belts and a man bag. Fifty years later I still have them and they are still in good condition. 
Will always be proud to have counted Kamuran as a friend.

I met Kamuran 25 years ago trying to sell a Sam Brown buckle for a new factory we started to represent. He was very professional and courteous and let me finish my sales pitch. He ordered 5,000 pcs and said "Good Luck filling this order" . He got me, as he had already purchased my factories entire inventory the day before. We laughed about this afterward and he always wanted to talk when I would visit. We did a lot of business over the 25 years and I consider him a good friend. I appreciated him even more when recently he said we both were dinosaurs in the business. He will be missed.

May the passing of time quickly heal your hearts.

I met Kamuran when he was working for another company downtown SD, back in the late 1970's or early 80's.  I followed him as a supplier of components when he opened his own business in Chula Vista.  His enthusiasm for business and life and his innate generosity made working with him a great pleasure.  Over the years,  we became friends and I enjoyed getting to know his great family  as new generations came into the business.   He leaves a great legacy, founded on his absolute insistence on quality in every phase of business.  Some of his competitors have not survived the changing conditions of manufacturing in the USA,  but Kamuran's integrity, hard work, and quality focus have ensured that what he built can thrive for generations.

Shared so many good memories at work  always trying to show us the right way to do a great job. 
He was very kind and gave me an opportunity to succeed and become a supervisor thanks to him. 
Learn a lot from him,  didnt had the opportunity to thank him since we move forward in life.

I remember meeting Kamuran many years ago here at the Police Academy. I dealt with him often.  He was always so kind and respectful. One of the things I liked about him from the beginning was his smile.  He was always smiling.  I have thought of him often during the years and on occasion would ask Ken how he was doing.  I'm so sorry that you have lost such a beautiful light in your life and hope that you will find solace in knowing that one day you will see him  again.  May God give you strength in this time of sorrow. 

It is with great sorrow to hear of the passing of a  gentleman, father and business owner,not knowing him personally but through his business . It is apparent that the world lost someone that was a great person.  My sincere condolences to his family.

Kamuran and I have been friends for 25 years and I also had the privilege of working with his creative, crazy, fun mind. I loved all his stories especially those of the old country. He made me laugh all the time when I was with him. He will be greatly missed! Rest in peace my friend!

I have known Kamuran for approximately 20 years! I have worked for his company as a consultant off and on during that time! His family has always treated me fairly, graciously and was always fun to be around! I will miss his friendly smile immensely! What a great friend to law enforcement him and his family have been! Rest In Peace my friend!
