Hank Duc Doan

Hank Duc Doan passed away peacefully, aged 64, Saturday, May 31, 2025 surrounded by family. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Lily, and their four children, Amy, Jessica, Steven and Julie. Hank was a proud and loving husband, father, brother, son and friend. He lived an incredibly adventurous and fulfilling life. Born in Kiến Tường, Vietnam on November 2, 1960, the eldest son among seven siblings, he was known as a protective and loyal brother, cousin, and friend. He came to America in 1992 where he met Lily in 1994 and they both fell madly in love, immediately starting a family the following year. He lived a colorful and creative life here, venturing in diverse businesses, partnerships, and projects. Known amongst family and friends as a talented storyteller and chef. He was generous with his advice, recipes, and jokes. Despite his lifelong battles with his own health, a stubborn man to the end, he lived his life the way he wanted and he will not be forgotten in all the lives he’s touched.

A visitation for Hank will be held Friday, June 20, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at El Camino Memorial Chapel, 5600 Carroll Canyon Road, San Diego, CA 92121. A funeral mass will occur Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 12:00 PM at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 8200 Gold Coast Drive, San Diego, CA 92126.
