It is with deep sorrow and heartfelt love that we announce the passing of Hung Nguyen, who left this life at the age of fifty-nine on March 30, 2026. He is survived by his mother, Dao, his siblings, Lan, Victoria, Joseph, and Elizabeth, along with three brothers-in-law, Quy, Richard, Jerry, and sister-in-law, Brenda, with a host of nephews, Alex, Christian, Daniel, Aaron, Gavin and Caleb, and nieces, Elenore, Aubrey, and Brianna, and other extended family members on both sides of his lineage.
Hung was a valued friend to many. He will be missed by those friends and clients, who appreciated his energy and humor.
Hung was also a beloved sports fan and often enjoyed sharing his enthusiasm and his favorite sports teams with others. He found much happiness in cheering on the San Diego Padres, Penn and Ohio State football teams, the Aztecs, and college basketball! Whether watching a game or discussing a big play, he brought passion and energy that made those moments special for everyone around him. His love of sports was more than a pastime—it was the way he connected with others! He loved watching live games at the stadiums with friends, barbecuing at friends’ homes, or sharing laughs with friends no matter where they were. His witty sarcasm resonated with many. He loved to share stories and sought the best out of others, particularly his beloved nieces. He wanted all his nephews and nieces to excel to the best of their abilities and make him proud!
He was also a historical buff, always curious and memorized historical facts from the great wars and beyond. His appreciation for history reflected a thoughtful and inquisitive spirit, one that sought meaning and understanding in the world. He had a great memory for all things history and often knew answers to difficult Jeopardy history topics.
Hung was a loyal employee of KeHE and DPI Specialty Foods. He worked as Lead Merchandiser and Relief Sales at several southern California sites, spending most of his final years at Ralphs Hillcrest. As the main merchandiser for the Ralphs Hillcrest store, he excelled and contributed to it being one of the top performing accounts within southern California. He was and still is highly regarded by the store employees and KeHE family.
Throughout his life, Hung was a devout Catholic. However, his faith deepened more over the past decade. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and consistently participated in Sunday services regardless of weather conditions.
Above all, he was a beloved son and brother. His presence in his home was a source of comfort, laughter, and love. He will be deeply missed by those who knew him best and loved him most. Since his hospitalization and passing, many have relayed stories of how Hung helped touch them. He was beloved, adored, respected and is now sorely missed! Though his time here was far too short, the memories he created and the love he shared will live on in the hearts of his friends and family who will continue to honor his memory every day. The family gives its deepest thanks and appreciation to all who have kept him in their hearts and prayers during these past months and particularly those who honored him in his last days with their presence. Hung, we love and miss you!
