Jessie's heart was for the Lord, and he truly let Him direct his steps.  He was a kind, caring, godly man who touched many lives.  Our deepest sympathies to the Wu and Liu families.  Cynthia, Christopher and Jacqueline, may the Lord uplift you, comfort you and fill your hearts with His peace and love.  The celebration of life was beautiful and a wonderful gathering to honor an amazing person.  Jessie's spirit and smile is greatly missed.  

My father and sister both had the pleasure of working with Jessie Wu during his career.  A decades-long friendship ensued between them.  I remember the stories they would share of his kindness and attentive care in how he approached his work.  He treated everyone with dignity.  He was well respected in his field, and for the ethical way he lived his life.  We are deeply saddened to hear of his passing.  Our deepest sympathies and prayers for healing go out to his family, friends, church and community members.  You welcomed us with open arms and hearts during his memorial.  I pray during your bereaved heartache, that comfort and joy accompany your every day.  The difficult work you are embarking upon, the active grief work and making sense of life’s questions, requires patience and gentleness with oneself.  Breathe.  Rest. My life was blessed the day I began working with Jessie at the City of La Mesa.  He touched my life in a very special way two years ago.  When Jessie was told that my father was near death, he immediately came to his home with another co-worker, Hamed Hashemian,  to pray for my father and with me.  I will be forever grateful.  Cynthia, Jacqueline and Christopher,  may God's abiding love comfort you and give you peace at this difficult time. 

I  will always remember Jessie as a truly nice person. Although I did not know him well, my interactions with him were always pleasant and he always struck me as a genuinely kind man. My thoughts are with Jessie's loved ones during this difficult and sad time of loss.

Jessie will be long be remembered for his work as the Building Official for the City of La Mesa, and his participation in the San Diego Chapter of the International Code Council.   He was a volunteer for the CALBO Foundation,  including rehabilitation of a home belonging to a disabled American veteran. 

Jason Woo would like to thank Jessie for visiting him after his angle surgery on 2015.
