Jimmie Alvin Christie

Jimmie Alvin Christie, age 73, died at home in El Cajon, California on Tuesday, May 2, 2017. The cause was Melanoma Cancer.

Mr. Christie was born on June 22, 1943 in Temple, Texas to Vassie and Edna Christie. He was the oldest child of three boys.

Mr. Christie graduated in 1984 with a Bachelor of Business degree from National University in San Diego, CA.

In 1976, he married Charlene Messinger of San Diego at the Chapel of the Fountain, Las Vegas. They were married for 40 years. He retired from the United States Navy in 1980 after 22 years of service including 8 years of service in the Air Force. He later retired again from the City of San Diego with Environmental Services in 2006.

Mr. Christie is survived by his wife, Charlene, son Michael and his wife Tess of San Francisco, and daughters Samantha Irizarry of Mesa, AZ, and Michele McLuen and her husband Scott McLuen of El Cajon, CA. He is also survived by his brother Terry of Independence, Kansas; and eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Charles in Mesa, Arizona.

Services will be held at 12:45. Monday, May 22, at the Miramar National Cemetery. Located at 5795 Nobel Drive, San Diego, Ca 92122. It is not the location of Miramar Mall that is sponsered in front of the Obituary. Relatives and friends are welcome at the service and the reception will be held at Karl Strauss Brewing, located at 9675 Scranton Rd., San Diego, CA 92121.
