Joan D. Johnston

Dear Friends and Family, With great sadness, we are writing to let you know that our mother Joan D. Johnston, better known as Debbie, passed away on 01-25-2016, just shy of her 91st birthday. Debbie was born in San Antonio, Texas, the only daughter of Ruth Snyder Doebbler and Edwin Charles Doebbler. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren: Charlie & Ellen Johnston, Kelly J. and James Middleton, Margaret and Charlotte Middleton, Devonie J. and Maclean Coble, Barrett, Hank, and Tabitha Coble, Robert Johnston, Phyllis Gardiner Johnston, and Philip G. Johnston. Her husband of 55 years, Robert Kirk Johnston passed away in 2001. Her family is especially grateful to her three devoted caregivers, Maria Avila, Socorro Guerrero and Jovanna Nieves, who enabled her to remain at home with a beautiful view of the ocean just as she wanted.
