John was born on February 26th, 1930 in Brooklyn, New York and raised in Norway. He was an enthusiastic outdoorsman and an accomplished skier. He travelled all over the United States and Europe and had careers as an engineer and a translator, translating technical documents from 10 languages into English. He had a passion for learning and books. John was very intelligent, well-respected amongst his peers, but also diligent, modest, kind and a content person.
His greatest accomplishments were his devotion as a husband, father, and grandfather. He was happily married to Elizabeth for 58 years and always gently but enthusiastically encouraged Allan and Sarah in their interests and education.
He is survived by his wife Elizabeth, children Allan and Sarah, and grandchildren Colin and Max. All held him in highest regard, and he will be missed dearly.
