Our beloved sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, Juana Murad, died on December 29, 2024. She was 90 years old.
Mom was the heart of our life and family. She was a loving mother, and an independent, strong, and determined person. She dedicated her life to her four children, Juan Manuel, Elvira, Rosalba, and Fernando. In 1967, as many others, she came to the United States looking for a better way to provide for her children, but she had to leave them behind. Over the years, reuniting again with her children became her main purpose in life. In 1980 Mom had the fortune to meet and marry her soulmate, Bill, who predeceased her, and who was instrumental in making a reality her lifelong dream of reuniting with her children.
Mom was known for her hearty laugh, kind heart and her delicious cooking. She had a strong work ethic that she passed on to her children and grandchildren. She loved her work at La Jolla Orthopedic Clinic so much that she did not retire until age 78. She had a great sense of humor and a very positive outlook in life. She cared for people in need and touched the lives of many people that had the fortune of meeting her. We were blessed with her love and dedication. She will be dearly missed.
At mom's request, she will be buried with her beloved husband Bill Murad in Riverside National Cemetery. She was predeceased by her parents, Fortunato and Celestina, and her sisters Maria Eustolia, Maria de Jesus, Maria Magdalena, and Maria Velia. She is survived by her sisters Maria del Carmen and Armida, her brother Felipe, her children, her grandchildren Karla Fabiola, Daniel, Nathalie, and Diego, and her great grandchildren Sofia Luna and Noah Vincent.
