Lou is survived by his wife of 41 years, Anne. Daughters, Kimberly, and Lysa. Grandchildren, Tiffany (Robert), Sean (Scarlett), Dylan, Kaitlyn and Brandyn. Great Grandson, Reid. Brother, Raymond. Sisters, Darlene, and Bonnie. Lou is preceded in death by his Father Luther Sr., Mother Helen, Brothers Paul and Dennis.
Lou could be found in his chair in the back yard or on the patio in the desert with a good book and cigar. He loved BBQ, 4th of July, parties with friends and margaritas at El Coyote. Self employed as a Software Engineer, he was always creating a better way. Lou was very active in the softball community. He played on several teams, and often referred to himself as Bulldog Kepple because of his "unhittable" highball. His passion for the sport continued, he was always present with strong opinions about plays, umpires and players. Most of all, his support for Anne on the field was never wavering.
In his earlier years he could be found on a golf course, motorcycle track or stream fishing with his girls down the Snake River. He had a great love for outdoors and adventure. Known as Papa, he was very involved with his Grandchildren and Great Grandson. Papa was the first to offer words of wisdom, explore new hobbies and be the one in the front row cheering at sporting events.
Over time Lou has acquired many treasured friends. He had many special moments and memories. The family would like to express our gratitude for the outpouring of love and support.
A visitation for Luther will be held Sunday, January 5, 2020 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at El Camino Memorial - Sorrento Valley, 5600 Carroll Canyon Rd, San Diego, CA 92121, followed by a graveside service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
