Maria-Theresa Allred was born to a polish couple on March 25, 1926. Her father married his beautiful wife in Poland when she was 13 years old. He began his new life in Winnipeg, Canada and waited for his bride 13 years before she obtained her Visa to Immigrated to Canada. She gave birth to Maria-Theresa Mazur in March. Her mother almost died during the birth and was never able to have other children. Her parents found a pet for her to be her constant companion. That loved dog was Princy.
Maria Mazur immigrated to San Diego July 9, 1962. Worked in Mercy Hospital as a laboratory technician for a while, purchased her apartments about 6 months after she arrived in San Diego, later she worked in the crime lab for the City of San Diego for the rest of her career. At some time she changed her name to Theresa Mazur, then to Theresa Allred.
Theresa was one of the first members of the Polish Club and was the oldest member when she left this world for Heaven.
She enjoyed giving Organ concerts to her organ club and her Senior Citizens group.
She discontinued her Russian language lessons when her Russian instructor died.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her uncle, and her beloved husband Joseph Allen Allred, and her step-son, Wayne Allred.
She is survived by the following:
Keith Allred, step-son, and his wife Terri Allred,
her step daughter-in-law, Charlotte Allred Sexton,
her step-grand children, Duane Allred, Deborah Allred, and Warren Allred, and his children Sophie Allred, and Raymond Allred, and his wife, Donna.
Theresa passed away on January 14th, 8:40 am.
Memorial services and burial services, were held at the Cypress View Mausoleum and Mortuary on Thursday, January 21, 2016.
In lieu of flowers, bequests may be made to the Humane Society of San Diego or your local animal shelter.
