Melanie Ann Romano

November 3, 1955 – December 29, 2024

Melanie Romano was called home to be with the Lord on the evening of December 29, 2024, in her hometown of San Diego, Ca. She passed peacefully while surrounded by family.

Melanie is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Franco Romano, her four children, Marisa Steel (Graham Steel), Dante Romano (Ashley Romano), Dominic Romano, and Anthony Romano (Angelina Romano), and her three grandchildren, Gianna Steel (5), Declan Steel (2), and Eliana Romano (1). She is also survived by her younger siblings, Mark Blake and Staci Freeman. Melanie was preceded in death by her parents, Christian Blake and Nicki Blake.

Over the years, Melanie worked as a licensed vocational nurse, and most recently as a real estate agent. Her longest and proudest role was that of Wife, Mom, and Grandma, and her favorite way to spend time was with family, especially her three grandbabies. Her interests include many years of playing tennis, spending time at the beach, lunches with friends, and making good use of everything San Diego has to offer.

Melanie is most often described by those who know and love her as kind and caring, cheerful and upbeat, and always smiling. She treated (and fed) everyone like family, and her loving and welcoming presence will be deeply missed.
