Dec. 21, 1964 – April 26, 2021
Our beloved Nancy passed away peacefully in her home on April 26, 2021, surrounded by loved ones. Nancy had been battling lung cancer for the past year. She was a fighter, cancer had met its match, but sadly the deadly disease ultimately came out victorious. Nancy was the most caring, compassionate and selfless individual. Even throughout her difficult battle, she never once placed herself before others. She was there for anyone, anywhere at any time of day.
Nancy was born on Dec. 21, 1964, in Pasadena, California to Myron and Carolyn Hunt. Nancy resided the majority of her life in San Diego County, but relocated to Boeblingen, Germany, for two years in 1980 when her family had an opportunity to live abroad. Furthermore, Nancy grew up in Escondido where she graduated from San Pasqual High School and Palomar College. She moved to Coronado in 1992 where she met and fell in love with her husband Chris DeNardi.
Nancy managed the front offices for several doctors in Coronado and used her accounting skills to keep up their books. She acquired her real-estate license in 2005 and had been an active real-estate agent until very recently.
In 1996, Nancy married Chris DeNardi in an unforgettable ceremony on the shores of San Diego Bay. They had two beautiful children; Isabel and Dominic. Nancy was most passionate about her children. Between their baseball, softball, basketball and volleyball matches, she loved boating on the bay, doing laundry and taking care of her beloved garden – which the community honored with awards.
Nancy will be sorely missed by her husband Chris, daughter Isabel and son Dominic; father Myron Hunt, sister Cynthia Hunt; brother Vince (Julia) Hunt; in-laws Harold and Judith DeNardi; sister-in-law Dana DeNardi and many uncles, aunts, nieces, cousins and a great number of Coronado friends. Nancy was preceded in death by her mother, Carolyn, in 1987.
We all miss Nancy’s sense of humor, her caring giving heart, beautiful smile, her ability to keep us all on track and most of all her amazing strength and will.
Nancy and her family were proud of their involvement with the Walk to Cure Type 1 Diabetes and helped host the annual lemonade stand fund raiser for over a decade. Memorial donations may be given to JDRF.
A memorial will be held May 13, 2021 followed by a celebration of life to be held at her family home.
