July 22, 1933 – September 13, 2025
Patricia DeWitt Brown passed away peacefully at home. Patty was born in Oakland, California, the daughter of Mae Louise Coolidge and James Quinne DeWitt Sr. Patty spent most of her life residing in the Bay Area and Piedmont except for the last 15 years when she moved to San Diego to be close to her daughters and their families. Patricia is predeceased by her husband, David Moody Brown and brother, James Dewitt. Patricia was a beacon of kindness touching the lives of all who knew her.
Patty spent several years in Hawaii where she learned to surf and discovered a lifelong passion for the islands. Her adventurous spirit led her to water-ski, snow-ski, and travel the world. Patty enjoyed an early career as a dental assistant before raising her family and eventually teaching Preschool. She was an enthusiastic reader, active member of her community, member of the Town & Gown Club of Berkeley, devoted family member and loyal friend.
Patricia is survived by her daughters Victoria Moats (Thomas) and Elizabeth Brown (Samisoni) and five grandchildren, Jessica Moats, Ryan Moats, Kenny Moats, Noah Molimoli and Olivia Molimoli, who will forever carry her memory in their hearts. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire and touch all who had the privilege of knowing her.
