

Romualdo “Romy” Guerrero Biscocho, was surrounded by family and loved ones when he passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026, at the age of 88. He was born on October 6, 1937, and resided in Menifee, California.
Romy was the sixth of nine children born and raised on a farm in Janopol, Tanauan, Batangas Philippines. In his childhood years, he enjoyed music and was self-taught to play musical instruments. In high school he played the violin with the local church band and later played the harmonica and guitar.
At the age of 20, Romy was determined to reach higher aspirations and enlisted with the U.S. Navy on December 30, 1957. During deployments Romy visited numerous countries including North America, Europe, Asia, England, Hong Kong, Japan, Italy, Spain, New Zealand, and Antarctica.
Romy’s best life changing moment was when he made a full circle back to the Philippines in October of 1962 and married his beautiful wife Maxima “Emma” of 63 wonderful years! They had three daughters who will forever follow Romy’s wonderful spirit and legacy.
Romy’s family was stationed in Yokohama, Japan in 1971 while his U.S. Navy ship was deployed during the Vietnam War. Romy settled his family in San Diego, California in 1976, where he retired after serving 20 years on November 30, 1977. Committed to USN Service, he briefly worked at VA Hospital prior to accepting a 2nd career with the U.S. Postal Service where he retired on November 2, 2007.
While enjoying retirement, Romy lived a full life and had many great adventures with his family and friends. He loved to cook and was a skilled craftsman. In his spare time, he built and constructed many renovations at his homes. He loved music, nature and animals. He was especially proud of his landscaping designs, fruit trees, vegetable gardens, and mostly his beloved family.
Romy is survived by his wife, Maxima Velasco Biscocho; daughters Lenora Jimenez, Leila Yahata, Eilynn Looney (favorite daughter) and their spouses Roderick Jimenez, Craig Yahata, Neil Looney III; grandchildren Christina Jimenez, Richard Jimenez, Nicolas Biscocho, Matthew Yahata, Ryan Yahata, Carsen Yahata; great-granddaughter Emilia Umaña; and siblings Victorino Biscocho, Rosalina Endozo, Juanita Miranda.
Romy’s passing was preceded by his father, Paulino Biscocho; mother, Felisa Biscocho; brother, Pedro Biscocho; and sisters Asuncion Quilao, Leonila Reyes, Semona Alcantara, and Porferia Biscocho.
Romy will be remembered as a gentle kind-hearted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather. He had an unrelenting spirit of courage and faith and never gave up, especially during the most challenging times. His greatest internal gifts have filled our hearts with a ray of light and happiness. Romy will forever be in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. 🕊️🕊️🕊️
