age 80, passed away with family by her side. Daughter of Anthony and Grace Lo Preste, survived by brother Frank and many nieces and nephews.

Rose was such a beautiful lady with a heart of gold. She always wanted to please her friends. No one ever left her home without a gift of homemade Italian cookies, a bottle of wine, fruit from her garden or a handcrafted treasure. She sent packages of cookies to friends and relatives in Italy, Canada and throughout the U.S. often making as many as 8,500 delicious Italian cookies at Christmas.

Rose loved having friends to her home and always enjoyed a good party. Rose’s closest friends were her puppies Mario, Valentino and Angelino.

We are so grateful to have shared so many family gatherings and events with Rose. Rose always greeting us with love and a story. She was so happy to just sit and talk whenever we saw her. She truly wanted to know more about us and make sure that we were included in whatever was happening.

Rose never wanted to miss a memory. Wherever she went, so did her camera. If she couldn't get the shot she wanted she was never shy about handing her camera over to the closest person to capture that moment.

Rose was brave is so many ways. It is hard to forget how bold she was going into the pool and wanting to swim at Rancho Leonero. There was no turning back once she made up her mind to give it a go. She could teach us all something about courage. This is one of our fondest memories of her.

Rose never wanted anyone to go hungry and she was a giver by nature. Put those two together and there was always an abundance when we were with her. We cherish the Christmas cookies we received every year. With all the thousands of cookies she made every year she always made us the special figs that she knew we liked.

Most of all, Rose had faith. She knew her God was there for her. We know she is in his good care. We will always remember her faith, her bravery and her giving spirit. Rest in peace Rose.

O Lord!

Support us all the day long

Until the shadows lengthen

And evening comes.

And the busy world is hushed

And the fever of life is over

And our work is done.

Then in Thy mercy

Grant us safe launching

And a holy rest

And peace at the last.

Happy Landing, Dear Girl.

With deep affection,
