Salvatore Russo, 90, was born in Trappeto, Sicily, on November 29, 1933. He moved to Germany at the age of 28 to work in the Volkswagen Factory, then immigrated to the United States at the age of 31. He worked as a plasterer for several years and then became a commercial fisherman, owning several boats while working in San Diego and Alaska for over thirty years. He was happily married for 47 years. Nanu was a wonderful father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He passed away peacefully with family by his side on October 20, 2024. Survivors include his sister, Vincenza, two sons, Matthew and Joe, one grandson and four granddaughters, and seven great-grandchildren.
