Sharon was born August 14, 1945 in Antigo, WI to Robert & Vivian Rusch. Sharon graduated from Antigo High School in 1962 and stayed at home helping her mother before moving to Illinois. In 1966 while working at a manufacturing company she met and fell in love With Jack Maynard, the two were married the following year on June 23rd. The Navy took them to Key West, FL where they had their daughter in 1973, but by 1978 they had landed in San Diego and bought their home on Ferndale Street where they still reside some 44 years later. After getting settled into life in San Diego, Sharon started work at IVAC Corp., where she started out in factory work. IVAC Corporation became IMED, which became Alaris Medical Systems and after 25 years of dedicated work, Sharon retired as Senior Benefits Coordinator in Human resources.
Sharon was full of fun and always up for a good game of cards, Yahtzee, black jack or bingo. If she wasn’t at home watching the Green Bay Packers play or watching old western’s with Jack, she was out at the casino playing bingo or up at the church on Thursday nights playing bingo with her daughter. Her other pastimes included reading romance novels and needlepoint. She made many pieces that will be treasured for years to come. Sharon loved visits from her Grandchildren, teaching them how to play cards & Yahtzee creating many treasured memories; but she did not always letting them win as she had quite the competitive spirit. Her competitive spirit was no match for her fighting spirit though as the last 15 years were hard battling breast cancer, which she beat and lung cancer which she initially beat but unfortunately came back. Although that last years were hard, she didn’t focus on that, her focus was on her devoted husband Jack of 55 years, who never left her side and living life through her daughter and her last Granddaughter, Olivia. Watching her family grow and reach life’s sweet milestones made life worth living for her and gave her a few extra happy years.
Sharon is survived by her Husband, Jack Maynard, Daughter Jeanette (Henry) Nerida, step-children Jack (Sandy) Maynard, David (Elizabeth) Maynard, Leslie (Lee) Reynolds, George (Sandy) Maynard and her Brother Frederick Rusch along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
