Dad was born in Pittsburgh, PA, in December 1923. He graduated from St. James Catholic High School in the West End and shortly after enlisted in the Navy. He proudly served our country for 22 years, retired at the rank of Chief and worked Civil Service at Naval Air Station, North Island for several more years with the survival training department.
Dad married our mother Betty Louise (Taylor) Conners in August 1946. After moving with the Navy several times within the United States, and France, the family finally settled in San Diego in 1958.
