Tom's passing brings to mind a lifetime of memories. From our times at St. Nicholas in LA, where as a young girl, I thought Tom and Elaine were the "it" couple, to years of activities at St. George, SD, to St. Anthony's, we have had an abiding friendship. 

There is one memory, however, which will rest indelibly in my mind. It is the story of true friendship. One night in 1982, my Bobby (46) was rushed to the hospital with a heart attack. Tom and Elaine met us at the hospital. Tom was the only other person allowed in the ICU. He was there daily without fail, cheering Bobby from surgery to recovery, making sure all progressed smoothly. As a young mother, what would I ever have done without his presence and strength. What would I ever have done without Elaine, whose watchful eye and prayers I needed more than I knew.

Tom and Elaine showed me true friendship.  I will never forget. Now, Tom joins Elaine in the heavens, but their memory will remain steadfast with me on this earth.

Some of my fondest memories of Uncle "T" were in a boat on the water.  We had  many fun boating trips in the SKV "Boys Toy" and in the Wellcraft Scarab Panther.  We worked hard, played hard, and always ate well.  May his soul rest in eternal peace.  We will all miss his laughter, his  endless humor, and his love.

The family of Thomas Michael Milan has entrusted El Camino Mortuary – Sorrento Valley to attend to the funeral services of their loved one. A beautiful soul has been called to rest in the eternal garden under the care of their higher power. While many will feel a sense of emptiness and loss, others will find comfort in knowing they are in a better place. May his spirit continue to be present in every day of your existence and in every memory you express. They say that one is forgotten or dies when you allow the memories to fade or go unspoken. Allow yourself time to grieve, as this is part of the healing process, but never forget that it lies within oneself to live and continue the legacy. May his soul rest in peace and continue to watch over you and grant you strength.
