William (Bill) was born on May 30, 1933, in Staten Island, New York to Mary (Brady) Crosson and Robert E. Crosson. Bill was married to Marcella Irene (McGarry) Crosson for 63 years before she passed away in 2019. He is survived by his daughter Kimberly Crosson and her wife Karen Dey, son James Crosson and his partner June Durso, his sister Patricia Cleary, and many extended family members.
William was a retired Navy Captain. He served for 26 years in the Civil Engineer Corp, many of those years as a Seabee with the construction battalions. His Navy career took him all over the world; some highlights were Antarctica a few times, Thailand, Vietnam, and Spain. Once he was stationed in San Diego he and Marcella knew they didn't want to leave so he retired and spent the last 45 years there.
William enjoyed traveling, camping, jogging and walking. His analytic engineering mind had him always questioning, thinking, problem solving and tinkering. He had a wonderful sense of humor and he was a man of deep faith. Alzheimers took over his mind but never his spirit.
William will be interred alongside Marcella at Miramar National Cemetery. No services are planned.
