As a Fire Mom to a former CALFire firefighter (current probationary firefighter with SDFD from the 87th Academy), I feel your pain and sadness every day.  My son was born on Dec. 19th, one day after Yaroslav's birthday.  I will remember him always.  

I suspect there are no words to describe your pride in his many accomplishments, and the grief that he is no longer here to make you laugh and smile.   I have planted a tree in my garden in the highlands of Central America, and will nurture it daily as I remember your son, brother and boyfriend.  May his soul find eternal peace in the arms of his Father.

Yaro, you were one of the bravest men I've had the honor of meeting during college. I'm sorry that we'll never get to watch the last Star Wars movie. Rest in peace, my Brother. #SigmaNu. #SDSU.

Yaroslav you touched our hearts and our lives forever. The road trip to Las Vegas was filled with life because you breathed life into everything...your charisma and zealous love for life will be missed tho you are forever in our hearts.... The Brieck Family💕

I remember you would always come to my house and we would do our accounting homework together. We had the same major in college and graduated the same year, so we would always get together and talk about our careers. We would always see each other in the library. We even roomed together at EDC a couple times with our girlfriends. It was only 3 weeks ago where I was talking to you about Europe. You would always still keep in touch with me whether I lived in New York City or in Colorado. You even flew out to New York and I introduced to you one of my friends out there. You were one of my best friend in college. Gonna miss you, brother, take care. 

Thank you for all the great memories and adventures. For building me up whenever I was down. For being there for me every time I need you. Thank you for always going to go get fat with me and try new food. Thank you for loving on my foster pets whenever we hung out. Thank you for teaching my daughters how to skateboard. You were an amazing person and friend. I am so proud of all of your accomplishments and privileged to have called you my best friend. I'm so proud of the man you were. We need more people like you in this world. I love you and I'll miss you. 

No matter if it was driving out to the desert to celebrate your car hitting 300k miles or just going to wings n things to eat, it was always a great time.
