Michael Sik Leung Gee was born on April 25, 1936 in Wo Hing Lei, Toi San, Canton. Michael immigrated to the US in 1962. He worked as a waiter at Sun Hung Heung Restaurant for 32 years and ran his own business for 20 years in the garment industry.
He gleamed much joy from his time with his family, preferring to stay home over going on vacation and having home cooked meals to eating out. "Home sweet home" was one of his favorite expressions.
Michael was a simple family man who needed little to be happy. He enjoyed playing with his "toys," taking and scanning photos, and Facetiming with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed chatting with others during his time as a waiter and continued to do so after retirement by helping out at his friends' restaurant. But what brought him the most joy was preparing a meal and being surrounded by his family.
His family and friends will lovingly remember Michael for his kindness, thoughtfulness and for always welcoming others to his house and table.
Michael is survived by his wife, Mei Jin; his sister, Mei Yu Chu; brother, Sik Lou Gee; children, Patrick (Rowena), Kristine (Tony), Jason (Beverly), Jinning (Carmen) and Matthew; and his grandchildren, Makaena, Kiana, Quillan, Samantha, Milo and Atticus.
