She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years Harold David Harper. Glynna was a loving wife, mother, friend and community volunteer. She will be greatly missed by all. She attended Pasadena City schools. Glynna and Harold met in 1945 when Glynna was 15 years old and continued a loving relationship for the next 57 years. Glynna met Harold while waiting at a bus stop with some girlfriends. Harold was on leave from the Coast Guard with friends when he noticed Glynna. She would often joke about their meeting, “I was picked-up on Colorado Boulevard.” Glynna moved to Arcadia in 2013. Some of her fondest memories of her youth are of the Queen Anne cottage and watching Errol Flynn shoot a movie in Arcadia. Volunteering and serving others gave her the most pleasure. In the early years, she spent much of her time volunteering at San Marino Schools and Sunnyslope Little League. For the past 16 years, she relished volunteering at the Arcadia Community Center. At the Arcadia Community Center, Glynna served others first while volunteering as a Senior Citizens Commissioner for City Council, Welcome Ambassador, Telephone Reassurance Volunteer, Friendly Visitor, the Senior Lunch program, and at numerous special events. She visited the sick weekly at the Arcadia Methodist Hospital. She had served as the First Vice President of the Arcadia Friendship Club and handled duties of “The Sunshine Lady.” Glynna was very passionate about the Arcadia Community in which she lived and served. Services for Glynna will be held on May 4th with burial at 10:00 a.m., Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren, Riverside, CA.
