To my Uncle Lalo/Nino I remember as a small child going to your house visiting with the family and when you and aunt Terry would go to my parent's house in El Paso. On one of those trips you came to my house in Las Cruces NM. My youngest daughter called you grandpa because you looked so much like my dad. It was a wonderful visit with you and aunt Terry. Those are memories that will forever be in my heart. Although I didn't get to visit you I was able to talk to you over the phone. We always had pleasant conversations. It gives me joy that I had the chance to have those conversations with you. It saddens me to know that your life here on earth has ended but gives me comfort in my heart that you are now in Eternal Life with Our Heavenly Father in His Heavenly Kingdom along with your Beloved Wife. I love you and will miss you very much. To my cousins I love you all and may the Lord be with you during this difficult time. God Bless.

You will be greatly missed and will live on as long as their is life in your sons,daughters,grand kids, great grand kids,etc etc. For each of them are a part of you and Teresa. Mr. Leonard Gonzalez was a hard-working man who adored his wife and loved his kids. He demanded respect and believed that anything can be accomplished through hard work. He was a no nonsense kind of man. He will dearly be missed but is now reunited with his beautiful wife in heaven. I always knew you as my Uncle Lalo from LA. You came to visit my Dad and that always made him very happy. I was just a skinny kid at the time, but I knew that you were my Uncle and that you loved me. You would come to the house and always have something for our family, eggs, fruit, but for me, you brought a box of Nestle crunch candy bars,WOW ! was i happy!  That explains my teeth . I have never forgotten your kindness. You were the last tie I had to my Dad and now you have join him. How lucky the both of you are to  have been rejoined along with your love of your life. What a party! Oh and by the way, you and I are cousins !  But I will always think of you as

It has not been easy to let anyone go..Grandpa u have showed me so much!  Uncle Leonard was my godfather and I was the only 20 year old in line to be baptized.
 Uncle was a mans man in every extent of the word; he provided selflessly for his Family and others.
 He kept my family from going hungry, kept us clothed, but most important of all taught me the value of  working hard to get what I want in life. He would tell me "No one is going to hand you anything, you have to earn it." and to this day those words have helped define the man I am today. I will be eternally grateful to him and to God for making him a part of my life. My heart and prayers are with you my family.

Grandpa....I know I didn't see you as much as some of my other cousins but that didn't make you being my grandpa any less...you loved us all some of us with tough love but that's just the kind of man you were (I know where i get it from) but it never offended me or made me scared to go see you and grandma...I guess because when I would go that was my own time with you and her...to hear stories from when you first met to when my dad was a kid...I will miss those random visits I will miss the talks on the porch...but I thank god I have lots of memories like my visits to the police station (now I avoid those places) my walks to the corner store...your drawer full of candy ;))

This is a sad time for all who knew my uncle Lalo in one way or another.  I am so glad to have spent the short time that I did back in Aug 2012, but those memories I will cherish forever.  We sat on the porch of his home, my dad (his brother), my mom, my cousins and myself, we laughed, smiled and remembered days of yore. 
There were also some tears, for different reason, but that is what family is all about; smiles, laughter and tears.
It will be hard to accept that you are no longer in our presence, but you will forever remain in our hearts and memories.  That is one thing no one can take away.....Love and Peace to you Uncle

As I sit here looking  back on all the memories I have of you, it was the last words I spoke to you that come to mind.  That day as I was leaving your house I paused  on the porch turned to you and told you" I love you” and you said “ok thank you.”   Looking back now I should have responded with “no grandpa thank you creating and nurturing  a loving, caring and  wonderful family.”  “Thank you for being there for us, for loving us unconditionally and for taking the time to correct us when we strayed in our lives.” You were strong, hard working, and family orientated.  I know that a great deal of who you were will live on in all of us.  Although I must say goodbye for now I know it will only be for a short time. I love you now. I will love you forever.

R.I.P. Mr. Gonzalez it was a great honor and pleasure to have known you and although it was for a brief time, you always showed me respect and love. I will miss you.

Im so sad to see a great man leave us but happy you are in a better place. You were a good example of what a man is to do for himself and his family. I respected and loved you. You would talk to me and think I wasn't listening but I was. And today, I live my like you did yours. You will always be in my heart.

My grandpa was a hard working and honest and sweet man. I know he would get mad if I said the wrong thing.I would hug and kiss him on the cheek every time I visited him.I love him even though he went to heaven with grandma, and my fathers brother raymond.I miss him and every one else. grandpa didnt go,his in our hearts. My grampa a man I seen so often but I still loved him. Even when he pushed me away i still wanted to go see him.My grampa was a good man even though he wasent in the best mood sometimes i still wanted to spend time with him.His house was always fun to be at even if i just sat there it was fun cause i got to hear him speak.I got to see him sometimes but not all the time i wish I could have see him every day.I hated to see him when he was sick i asked god why he gave my grampa cancer when i prayed for him. God wanted him to come home when he gave him cancer but that was not fair to us.I still wanted him to live i wanted him to see me acomplish stuff so he would be proud.I loved him alot I wanted to spend more time with him so he could tell me more stories.About him growing up,work, and his kids and more thing he told me a lot of stuff. I respect him alot he was a good grampa he also taught me alot of stuff to i loved him. I will miss him dearly now that hes gone he was a very good man i love you grampa.
