Pauline passed away on August 25, 2025, at the age of 93. She was born on December 16, 1931, in Douglas, Arizona. She loved her hometown and would often tell stories of growing up there with her three sisters, Lydia, Maria, and Veronica and her two brothers, Gilbert and Edward. She was married for 68 years, raised 6 children, cherished all her Nieces and Nephews Aunt Polly, and was a friend to all. Pauline was always a joy to be around. She touched countless lives with her kindness, optimism, and generosity.
Pauline is survived by her husband, Lothar W. Bewernick, and her six children; Robert Bewernick, Gregory Bewernick, Della Bewernick, Douglas Bewernick, Kimberly Bewernick Barragan, and Richard Bewernick Montion, her 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
She was a proud, strong and independent Mexican-American woman who was before her time. She worked full time while raising her six children. She went back to school in her 50’s to earn her A.A. She fought for the rights of minorities and volunteered with the Hollenbeck Police Department, among her many other deeds. An excellent athlete and dancer, she was always ready for a pickup game of basketball or to hit the dance floor. Generous to a fault, friends and even strangers, had to stop complimenting her as she would literally take off the various pins, broaches, scarves, etc and give them away.
Her legacy of love, resilience, and compassion will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
An internment will take place in December to take her home to rest with her Parents Francisco Montion and Maria Del Refugio Montion. Back to the small town that created such a fabulous human being.
